Milan’s Brera Orto Botanico

The Milanese, the inhabitants of Milan, are very proud of their Orto Botanico located in the palazzo of Brera. The public garden, dated from 1774 is a mix of huge trees, flowers and an edible garden, located in the Brera Academy of arts, by the Astronomy museum. It is a beautiful garden, a green island in the center of Milan. I have already taken pictures there when Milan fashion designer Massimo Alba shown his Men’s spring-summer  2012 collection last June in the garden.

I am in Milan for the women’s fashion week. After the shows, I went to take a walk in the ‘Giardini pubblici Indro Montanelli’, a public garden located in the center of the town. It was already quite dark but there was still a lot of people there, chating, jogging, walking, reading. I even saw a dog who knew exactly what the board reading ‘Dog’s area’ was meant for…

Another session of test with the new lens that I am planning to use for a project. I have never been a great fan of macro photography, but I am discovering here the pleasure of composing quite abstract images based on colours and shapes. I find it nice to escape for a while from the real world…
